Improving Personal Health & Wellbeing Through The Arts

Twilight Zone 15 - 2025 'Flip the Script'

Arts Programme for Young People - Empowering Young Voices through the Arts

The Twilight Zone is a creative multi-media arts project for Looked After Young People across Northern Ireland. Arts Care in partnership with the Public Health Agency have continued to support young people in care settings to express themselves through the creative arts. Now in it’s 15th year The Twilight Zone offers young people between the ages of 12-18 the opportunity to work with Arts Care artists creating artwork to transform their own living environments and for our annual exhibition which took place at the Belfast School of Art at the Ulster University in December 2025. Arts Care held a celebration of 15 Years of the Twilight Project and the work it does with Young People at the Long Gallery, Stormont, Parliament Buildings in January 2026.

The theme for Twilight Zone 15 was ‘Flip the Script’ and the online exhibition can be viewed here. We would like to thank all of the young people who took part in the exhibition, the Public Health Agency for their continued support of this project and the artists and staff for their hard work and dedication to this project.

How the Twilight Project Works

Through dynamic arts activities such as filmmaking, digital art, music, and photography, the Twilight Zone Project creates a safe, empowering space for young people to share what matters most to them. The project enables them to connect with professional artists, learn new creative skills, and develop the confidence to communicate their stories in powerful ways.

Activities include

– Filmmaking: Encouraging storytelling and visual expression.
– Digital Art: Exploring creativity with digital tools.
– Music: Offering a platform for self-expression through sound.
– Photography: Capturing moments and perspectives that reflect each young person’s journey.

Why The Twilight Zone Matters

The Twilight Zone Project does more than simply engage young people in the arts; it fosters a sense of belonging and purpose, helping them to develop resilience and self-confidence.
