Jill McKeown studied art at the University of Ulster, receiving an MA in Fine & Applied Arts in 1997. Since leaving college, she has enjoyed many artist residencies in the USA, Europe and Ireland, and has exhibited in solo and group shows in Ireland, the USA, the UK, Europe, Egypt, China and Japan. She has over 25 years’ experience in delivering socially engaged practice within broader community and healthcare sectors, joining Arts Care in the Southern Trust in 2004, and more recently extending her work to the Southeastern Trust.
“The relationship between art and health is well evidenced. The success of collaborative working and connecting with one another ensures art is accessible and inclusive for all throughout the Trusts putting the focus on abilities and possibilities, hopefully creating a better, healthier and more sustainable life.”
Jill facilitates workshops in a range of Trust facilities, promoting the potential of art as a means of creative expression through printmaking, painting, ceramics, textiles and installation, mosaic and bookarts.
