Seliena is a jewellery designer, curator and educator with over 25 years’ experience in the field. Born in Derry, Northern Ireland, she studied BDes (Hons) Jewellery and Silversmithing at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee before joining the intensive jewellery training program facilitated by the Crafts Council of Ireland in Kilkenny. She went on to complete an MFA at Indiana University, Bloomington and further training with the Crafts Council of Ireland in their Craft and Design Business Development Program. In 2000, Seliena established a workshop in her hometown of Derry.
She has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. She has held several teaching positions including Professor of Metals and Jewelry at Savannah College of Art and Design, Head of Metals, National College of Art and Design, Dublin and most recently lecturer at Ulster University. Seliena has extensive experience within the community art sector, having worked with multiple agencies including Artlink, A Space 2, Creative Schools, The Playhouse and Arts Care.
