Transformations

The theme for the 2025/2026 Here & Now Festival is ‘Transformations’.
The idea behind the theme is the concept of change and metamorphosis.

‘Transformations’ has been interpreted in many ways by our participants and artists … for example:
• The Power of Change – What does it feel like to evolve, to shed old layers,
or to grow into something new?
• Metamorphosis – Inspired by nature, identity, life transitions, or personal journeys.
• Before and After – Exploring contrast, memory, or visual shifts.
• In Flux – Embracing improvisation, spontaneity, and the creative process itself as transformation.
• Time Passing – The impact of time: personal milestones, social change, or the speed of modern life.
• Rebirth and Renewal – Letting go of the past to embrace new possibilities.
• Becoming – The process of becoming who we are — or who we wish to be.

Our Artists have been inspired to deliver an exciting festival that this year, reached right across every council area in Northern Ireland.
