Artists-in-Residence

Arts Care engages seventeen professional artists to deliver an Artists-in-Residence weekly arts service across the five Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland. The Artist-in-Residence provide a varied range of arts activities such as dance, music and visual art engaged to deliver a two or three day residency for service users, healthcare staff and visitors to participate in. The programme also involves the provision of arts workshops, performances and art exhibitions. The arts activities are delivered within the following services:

 

  • Older People Residential and Day Care Services

  • Older People Dementia Services

  • Older People Acute Services

  • Neuro-rehabilitation Services which includes service delivery in enduring brain trauma,
    stroke and Parkinson’s services

  • Adult, Children and Young People Mental Health Services

  • Adult, Children and Young People Cancer Services

  • Hospital Services

  • Community Health Services

  • Learning, Physical and Sensory Disability Services

  • Healthcare Staff Services

  • Community Health and Well-being Services

  • Education Services (local and international)

The Artist-in-Residence programme is supported by fifteen Arts Care Committees of volunteers that are located across key locations in the Health and Social Care Trusts.
