Patricia Lavery

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust
Mater Hospital (job share)

Patients, staff and the local community have encountered many creative activities throughout 2008/2009. These include music in the medical and surgical wards from “Music In Hospitals” singing by Una McCann; printing workshops in the local community which culminated in a new work installed in a bathroom at Maternity and poetry with workshops to name but a few.
December brought the return of Patricia Lavery, joint Artist-In-Residence with Katie Lindsay, after 9 months maternity leave.

From December to March Patricia has been busy moving office from The Old See House to the Psychiatry Building and programming for the year ahead.

Patricia is seeking funding through the small grants scheme with the Arts Council to continue “Mater Earth”, a temporary installation of patient and staff work to be exhibited on the front of the Mater. She is facilitating glass workshops with staff that will produce a permanent glass panel for the Mater and is creating a balloon installation in the Mater atrium with patients from across the hospital in the coming months.
