Gwen Stevenson

Southern Health and Social Care Trust
Newry and Mourne Area

I am a multi-media artist working collaboratively and individually on a variety of socially engaged interdisciplinary public, community and health care art projects. I believe that we all can learn to be creative in many different ways regenerating us as individuals as well as our shared communities.

My practice is inclusive and democratic. I work across and between areas, at the cutting edge of art practice drawing from a range of disciplines including “time-based” work such as video, sound and performance work, site-based installation and more traditional media such as photography, painting and storytelling. I work with people of all ages and abilities from diverse backgrounds.

I have a First Class Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Ulster, a Masters of Science in Organisational Behaviour from the University of London and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Dublin.

I have exhibited widely representing Ireland at South America’s leading contemporary arts festival, Estudio Abierto in Buneros Aires and jointly winning the Claremorris Open Exhibition in 2006.
