ANNE HARPER

Anne Harper is a musician, music facilitator and storyteller based in County Down, and she joined Arts Care in 2022. She has worked widely as a professional clarinettist for more than 20 years, and also plays a number of other instruments including the harp, saxophone and piano. Anne has been designing and leading musical workshops since 2015 across a wide range of settings. She works comfortably with people of all ages and ability levels, and her skill-set makes her extremely versatile. Anne is passionate about the ability of music to enhance everyone's well-being.    


JILL MCKEOWN

Jill McKeown studied art at the University of Ulster, Belfast receiving and MA in Fine & Applied Arts in 1997. Since leaving college she has enjoyed many artists residencies in the USA, Europe and Ireland and has exhibited in solo and group shows in Ireland, America, UK, Europe, Egypt, China and Japan. She has over 25 years experience in delivering socially engaged practice within the broader community and healthcare joining Arts Care as an AIR in the Southern Trust in 2004 and more recently also in the South Eastern Trust. Jill facilitates workshops in a range of Trust facilities promoting the potential of art as a means of creative expression through printmaking, painting, ceramics, textiles and installation, mosaic and bookarts. “The relationship between art and health is well evidenced. The success of collaborative working and connecting with one another ensures art is accessible and inclusive for all throughout the Trusts putting the focus on abilities and possibilities, hopefully creating a better, healthier and more sustainable life.” 


Charmaine McMeekin

Charmaine works creatively through dance and movement in healthcare, community and educational settings. Her passion is the moving body and inviting people to express who they are through dance. The joy comes when people move, make and communicate using their dancing bodies and adds "it's my privilege to facilitate this through my workshops. Wouldn't it be wonderful to see everyone moving to feel good in their body and mind. Let's everyone keep dancing!!"


RUTH OSBORNE

Ruth creates mixed media textile artworks, specifically working with Irish Linen, and has a specific interest in the historic practice of Nature Printing, and working with Botanical Inks and Dyes. She regularly exhibits her work and facilitates workshops linked to her practice. Ruth has over 12 years experience of developing and delivering community arts, art education and wellbeing programmes and projects with a range of services and organisations. 


TRUDY BURKE

Trudy is a visual artist with a background in sculpture, working mainly in metal, glass, and clay. Her work has ranged from small scale bespoke silver jewellery to large public art bronze pieces. She is passionate about the processes and techniques involved in creating three dimensional artforms, both traditional and contemporary, ranging from silversmithing, modelling and casting. She has been commissioned to make stained glass windows, candlesticks, and altar tables for churches, but also abstract and representational sculptures for public spaces, such as hospital courtyards and sculpture trails. She has worked over 25 years facilitating and teaching these techniques to various sectors of the community, where ages have ranged from 5 to 95 years. Trudy has worked with all levels of ability and tailored her sessions to suit. She loves to share the skills she has had the privilege to learn, in the hope that she can inspire and encourage others to experience the positive outcomes that art can bring into life.
