Title of Work: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Somewhere over the rainbow' creating meaningful journeys in the lives of the project participants. eg - a trip to the seaside, will be captured through the smells, sounds, tastes and visual memories of the event. - My project outline for Here and now 20/21 invited the participants to engage their imaginations and take part in the preparations and making of accessories for various recreated fantasy trips out. The sessions took the form of workshop pre recorded videos and delivery of art packs to the care centre. These were then shown on a large screen to the core group and all the other residents and staff present in the day room. Each video had a specific theme and activity which the activity coordinator facilitated. The videos encouraged the group to delve deep into their memories of favourite outings and recreate the scents, sounds and feelings in their minds, this hopefully leading to poignant and thought provoking discussions around life’s trips.
