The Festive soundtrack to my life’s road trip - reflections and memories associated with Christmas music - Music plays a huge part in all our lives and there are many songs and pieces of music which we identify with various landmark times during our life’s road trip. For participants who are living with life limiting respiratory conditions or the impact of a stroke or heart attack reflecting on quality of life following such events is very salient to the theme of this year’s festival. Through the sessions we explored with participants what music has been important to each of them and why.

This song sums up Life’s Roadtrip for me

• Isle of Innisfree when people used to call me a dreamer in school but there was no harm in dreaming. I went on to design things, so I needed to be able to dream to create!

• I dreamed a dream– looking back you sometimes wish you had done more when you were young, and you thought you would be in a young body forever – now the mind is still young but the body a lot slower!
