Having worked almost exclusively as an art technician
since graduating from college in 1988, working as an Artist-in-Residence
has proved to be a challenging yet rewarding experience for me. The
client groups I work with range from long-stay patients with severe
psychiatric problems, to clients who may have suffered from less acute
mental health problems and who now reside in the community. While drawing
and painting may be the preferred method of art making among the client
population I work with, parallel to these methods of self-expression
I also run larger, long term projects based on the combined efforts of the
clients, using other mediums such as silk paint and clay.
