There were 3 elements, 3 techniques and 3 videos made to guide the participants in creating the final art piece for the wall.

Letter Stamping allowed participants to name and talk about places they have been or would like to go, the bigger picture geographically and particular places closer to their heart. These stamped metal plates then formed a Long and Winding Road, like the Yellow Brick Road in the Wizard of Oz!

Writing with Wire and Beads emphasised the above exercise, making the words “Road Taken Not Taken” inspired by the Robert Frost poem “Road Not Taken”.

Writing with Wire enabled a depiction of the points of a compass, strategically placed on the final art piece.

Although I did not manage to meet, work and chat with the participants, my most favoured part of any project in the community, it was a satisfying challenge and learning curve. I could not have completed the workshops without the in-situ guidance by the units’ occupational therapist, Emma Veale and the assistance of Irene Somerville, Team Lead Occupational Therapist.
