Andrea Spencer

Andrea Spencer graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1993 with a BA (Hons) in Architectural Glass, studying under Ray Flavell and Douglas Hogg.

She has held the post of Artist in residence for Arts Care with Belfast City Hospital for the past six years, working with staff and patients and the wider community on a variety of art projects in the healthcare environment.

In 2004 and 2005 she was the recipient of the Individual Support for the Artist award and has three times received a Travel Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland. She was an artist in residence at North Lands Creative Glass in 2004 and regularly travels to the USA to develop her glassmaking at Isola Glass, Camano Island Seattle.

Recently completing architectural glass installations for Belfast City Hospital and Craigavon Area Hospital, Lakewood Regional secure Unit. She is competition winner of three new awards for 2007/2008.
